How to Give Feedback– Worried You Might Not Say It?
When people trust your intentions– why youre giving feedback– you can state almost anything. When they dont trust your intentions, you can state nearly nothing.
Speak from the heart, be authentic, and stress less. Be yourself. Tell the other person youre worried if youre nervous to state what you want to say. Say so if youre having a hard time to find the ideal words. If youre stressed youll harm the relationship or that it isnt your function to provide the feedback, say that. Authenticity goes a long way.
Getting negative feedback is hard. Its simpler to listen to feedback when we trust the individual whos providing us the feedback– we understand their intents are to help versus to evaluate or injure us.
Many individuals stress over providing feedback due to the fact that they fear they do not have the best words. Theyre worried theyll say it incorrect and harm their relationships.
Feedback is hard enough to offer without fretting about stating everything perfectly. Fret less about having all the right words and more about whether people trust your motives.
