Ukraine is a weird place to take images. I was in Kyiv for a couple of days while on a journey to picture Chernobyl, so I took some time to wander around the city. It was the middle of winter season and the snow was up previous my knees. I discovered this amazing cathedral and spent a while taking shots of the outside before finally going inside to get warm. I didnt know if I was enabled inside, but I went all out anyhow. I say its an unusual location to take photos since I never ever saw another professional photographer the entire time in Ukraine. Maybe it goes back to their communist days and they are incredibly suspicious of anybody with a cam … I definitely got a lot of suspicious appearances from people, specifically the older generation. This cathedral was built in the 1700s in the Ukrainian Baroque style, ruined by the Soviets in the 1930s, then rebuilt following Ukrainian self-reliance in 1991. From the Worship collection on Foundation.
