Cloudy skies are set to turn into heavy snow overnight Tuesday, although temperatures are predicted to stay in the low 30s.
As heavy, wet snow is predicted to accumulate throughout Wednesday, residents could face power outages and should consider delaying travel plans until the end of the week.
“Wednesday’s just going to be a nasty travel day and they should try to either get their traveling done Tuesday or wait until Thursday or even Friday,” said Observing Program Leader and Meteorologist Rachel Cobb. “Of course, there could still be some lingering snow showers coming through again Friday, as well as Saturday.”

As temperatures could drop into the 20s, winds will be somewhat gusty, averaging 25 to 30 miles an hour. The potential storm will be below blizzard conditions, and nowhere as intense as the pre-Christmas storm Indiana faced in December.
