Leisure screen time among U.S. teenagers doubled from before the pandemic to almost eight hours daily during the pandemic, according to the report. And this price quote does not consist of time invested on screens for remote knowing or schoolwork, so the total was likely much greater, the scientists stated.

” More screen time was connected to poorer mental health and greater tension among teenagers,” said lead researcher Dr. Jason Nagata, an assistant teacher of pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco.

The findings were published online as a research study letter in JAMA Pediatrics.

Nagatas group looked at time teenagers spent playing video games, texting, utilizing social networks, video chatting, searching the web, and enjoying or streaming films, videos or television programs.

As teenagers significantly stepped up their screen time throughout COVID-19 lockdowns, their wellness took a hit, a brand-new study reveals.

The findings come from a study of more than 5,000 U.S. adolescents, primarily 12- and 13-year-olds.
